Dr. Trotter graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of San Diego. He earned the doctor of medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and completed residency training in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery from Georgetown University Hospital and affilate hospitals, which included The Washington Hospital Center and The Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Trotter has been in private practice in Otolaryngology since 1988 and has practiced in Guntersville, Alabama since 1994. He is board certified in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and has active memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Medical Association of the Sate of Alabama, the Marshall County Medical Society, and the Alabama Society of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
Dr. Trotter is on active staff of Marshall Medical Center North, and has served in several capacities including the Executive Committee and Chief of Surgery.
Dr. Trotter has been married to his wife Wanda for 36 years. They have four children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys time with his family and pursuing his interest in music, particularly traditional Irish music. He is an accomplished Irish flute and whistle player, currently playing with a traditional Irish band based in Huntsville, Alabama.
